XU moves up in U.S. News and World Report rankings

By: Tatum Hunter Xavier is the fourth best regional university in the Midwest, according to the U.S. News and World Report. Top Xavier administrators, however, don’t want the university to be defined by the numbers, or at least not by that number. While both University President, Fr. Venice on Vine adapts to changing surroundings

By: Justin Worthing Well-known Over-the-Rhine (OTR) restaurant Venice on Vine is facing new opportunities and challenges with its changing surroundings. The restaurant, which has served the same meals with little variation since 2006, is in the process of changing its menu to cater to a new population. “We understand the market enough to make some changes for the long term,” Mark Shannon, executive director of the restaurant, said. “We must cater to the new normal.” With all the new restaurants and developments in the area, things may get harder for Venice. Club Profile: Bike XU

By: Lydia Rogers The Bike XU program is promoting a bike culture in the Xavier community. The program allows students to rent bikes for on- and off-campus use, benefiting students who may not have a car on campus or those who would prefer biking to class and using the accessible bike racks rather than searching for a parking space in a designated lot away from the academic mall. Women of Excellence and the Student Government Association (SGA) started the Bike XU program in 2009.
