Lauren Hill, MSJ to play opener at sold-out Cintas

By: Andrew Koch ~Editor-in-Chief~ Lauren Hill, a freshman forward at Mount St. Joseph University (MSJ) diagnosed with terminal cancer, will play her first collegiate basketball game in front of a sold-out crowd at Cintas Center on Nov. 2. Hill, a 19-year-old native of nearby Lawrenceburg, Ind., was diagnosed with inoperable brain cancer late last year after committing to play basketball at MSJ. Despite extensive treatment, doctors estimated that she had less than a year to live. Added Core reflection requirement for seniors

By: Andrew Koch ~Editor-in-Chief~ As part of the university’s desire to evaluate the Core curriculum, an ad hoc committee has put together “CORE 499: Reflection on the XU Core,” a new requirement for all seniors who will be graduating in the spring of 2015. The course requires students to complete a randomly assigned writing task on Canvas that is designed to evaluate the old Core’s outcomes.
