A $1 million land deal between Paycor and Skyline Franchisee Steve Misleh has become a part of broader development for the Skyline brand in Cincinnati.
The vacant land in the deal sits east of the former Paycor headquarters and just north of the Norwood Lateral Parkway. The land acquisition occurred through the holding company, Zub Properties LLC, financed with a loan of $1.05 million. This new location is only a quarter of a mile from the existing Norwood skyline which is occupied by lease.
“We’re excited about this acquisition in Norwood,” Misleh stated to the Business Courier.
“This is a development we’re targeting for 2027. We’ll be building a Skyline Chili restaurant there, and we’re exploring opportunities to bring in other retailers as part of the broader development.”
Misleh’s parents were among the first Skyline franchisees opening locations in the 1960’s. Their history, combined with four currently operating locations, has positioned themselves as a part of the “Skyline family.”
This expansion occurs after Skyline Chili announced in December that it would be headed to Fountain Square. The new restaurant would move into the former March First space, which occupies the space between Potbelly and City Bird.
“We are excited to welcome Skyline Chili to Fountain Square,” Director of Corporate Real Estate for Fifth-Third Thomas Ross, stated via release.
“This hometown favorite will be a wonderful addition to the existing local business at The Eateries at Fifth-Third Center, as we work to create a welcoming and vibrant dining experience for everyone who visits Fountain Square.”
Using the existing infrastructure, this location will operate as a taproom with beer, wine and the ability to accommodate up to two hundred visitors, all while operating in the same sit-down or take-out method of a traditional Skyline.
Skyline Chili is now expanding into the Norwood area, increasing the number of stores in the Cincinnati area
“Fountain Square is the heartbeat of Cincinnati, and Skyline has always been about bringing people together,” Chief Executive Officer of Skyline Chili Dick Williams said, “Fountain Square is where the downtown workforce gathers for lunch during the day and families and friends gather for food and entertainment at night. We also welcome many out-of-town visitors to our strengthening downtown core and hope they make Skyline Chili a part of their Cincinnati experience.”
The Fountain Square location was first to open this spring, but the expected opening has been delayed as Skyline is now aiming for a summer opening.
“Whether it’s fans celebrating a big sports victory, families or friends connecting for entertainment programming, or convention visitors exploring the city, we want to be there for them on Fountain Square whenever the craving hits.” William said.
