Track and Field keeps running

By: Adam Tortelli ~Staff Writer~ Xavier Track and Field returns to Cincinnati this week, coming off a jam-packed weekend of competition. Starting their weekend early, the team headed to Muncie, Ind. to compete in the Cardinal Invitational at Ball State. There they posted a slew of top-five finishes against major competition such as Kent State, St. Joseph’s, Ohio University, Wright State and Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne. Top runners for the women’s team included sophomore Haley Jerabek, taking third in the 800m, and Sydney Larkin, claiming fifth in the 400m. Notes: Former basketball players thrive

By: Adam Tortelli ~Staff Writer~ Just weeks after their seasons officially ended, former Xavier basketball players continue to make strides off the court in their post-collegiate careers. Former standout from the women’s team Ashley Wanniger was named the head women’s basketball coach for her alma mater, Colerain High School, where she graduated from in 2010. As a Musketeer, Wanniger played for three different coaches (Kevin McGuff, Amy Waugh and recently-extended current head coach Brian Neal) and was a member of the most recent NCAA tournament team for Xavier women’s basketball as well as conference championship team of the Atlantic 10. … Continue reading Notes: Former basketball players thrive
