Georgetown plays Cinderella, wins Big East

By: Joe Laurich, Staff Writer After being picked to finish last according to the Big East Preseason Coaches Poll, the Georgetown Hoyas rallied on Saturday to win the Big East Tournament. They entered the tournament as No. 8 seed in the conference, but their underdog status couldn’t stop the Patrick Ewing-led Hoyas from earning an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. During the regular season, Georgetown won four of their last six games. Volleyball defeated in title game

By: Isabel Smith ~Staff Writer~ Xavier volleyball ended an impressive season in Indianapolis at Hinkle Fieldhouse on Nov. 26 in the Big East Championship final match. The Musketeers fell to No. 21 Creighton in three sets (19-25, 15-25, 25-27). Xavier was seeded third and Creighton first heading into the match. With the win, the Bluejays clinched their third straight Big East Tournament title. In the initial set of the final, there were 10 ties and four lead changes.
