Opinion: Move to Big East has been monumental

By: Josh Bozzick ~Staff Writer~ A successful coach gets the most out of his or her players, and highly ranked players have many more items in the cupboard that can be of use. If a program lands more highly touted recruits with other variables remaining constant, then the end result should be more wins and deeper runs in the postseason. NBA season gets underway after memorable, impactful offseason

By: Josh Bozzick ~Staff Writer~ The National Basketball Association (NBA) started its season on Tuesday night with a trio of games. Here is a preview for the 2016-17 NBA season, broken down by conference and division. In the East’s Atlantic Division, the Boston Celtics should improve upon last year’s campaign with the addition of power forward Al Horford. They are joined by the New York Knicks, who were perhaps the most active team in free agency with their additions of former MVP Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah. Golf tees off in Myrtle Beach

By: Josh Bozzick ~Staff Writer~ The Xavier men’s and women’s golf teams began their seasons on Sept. 11 as they participated in the Golfweek Program Challenge in Myrtle Beach, S.C. The women’s team finished in 12th place out of 16 teams after a final round combined score of 316 and an 80 over par for the competition. Shooting a final round combined score of 298 were the men, who finished last in the 16- team field overall, shooting a 37 above par for the competition.
