By: Donald Menke ~Staff Writer~ The volleyball team continued its hot streak in conference play, downing Seton Hall three sets to none by scores of 25-17, 25-18 and 25-22 this past Friday. The first set was a close one with eight ties and five lead changes. However, Xavier managed to pull away with a 12-4 run to close the set. The second set was not nearly as close, with Xavier jumping out to a 7-3 lead and winning the set by seven. The third set was the closest, even after Seton Hall got out to a 7-1 lead. Volleyball takes two of three in Florida

By: Josh Bozzick ~Guest Writer~ The Musketeers have a lot to smile about after returning home from their trip to Florida State University this past weekend. On Friday night they took down the Florida A&M Rattlers 3-1 (25-16, 23-25, 25-14, 25-18), thanks to 11 kills from sophomore Kristen Massa and eight kills from sophomore Lauren Frilling. Early Saturday morning in their second contest against Coastal Carolina, the Musketeers squeaked by the Chanticleers 3-2 (25-15, 21-25, 25-20, 19-25, 15-8). Away matches begin

By: Isabel Smith ~Staff Writer~ The Xavier women’s volleyball team posted an impressive performance in its final road match up of the season, defeating the Butler Bulldogs three sets to one. With the victory against their Big East rivals, the Musketeers helped head coach Mike Johnson record his 100th career win. Johnson joined the Xavier family as the school’s ninth volleyball coach in June 2010. He is only the second coach in school history to reach this milestone, following his predecessor, Floyd Deaton, who previously held the position for the 20 seasons.
