The team is excited to move onto its final games as coach Andy Fleming’s squad is building momentum fresh off a 2-1 win at Villanova, a game that saw the Musketeers down a goal with a more than four minutes remaining. Men’s soccer kicks balls, but still falls

By: Andrew Utz ~Staff Writer~ The men’s soccer team lost twice in its past two home games. Xavier hosted Georgetown on Oct. 3 and came out with a 1-0 loss in extra time. The Hoyas scored the golden goal in the 96th minute. The loss broke a five-game winning streak held since Xavier faced rival Cincinnati. Despite going into extra time, the Musketeers had multiple opportunities to edge out of the deadlock. Junior Jalen Brown and redshirt sophomore Walker Androit combined for a total of six shots. Just like basketball season Men’s soccer follows up win over Cincinnati with win over no. 2 Notre Dame

By: Isabel Smith ~Staff Writer~ The men’s soccer team returned to the field Friday, Sept. 11 following a loss to Virginia Tech at the start of the week. The Musketeers competed against crosstown rival, Cincinnati, at Gettler Stadium. Xavier defeated the Bearcats 2-1, to remain unbeaten by Cincinnati since 2010. With the win, Xavier’s record improved to 3-2 overall. The road game against the Bearcats showcased senior midfielder Alex Risdale’s skills with his opening goal in the first half.
