Xavier inducts five into HOF

By: Luke Feliciano ~Staff Writer~ Xavier welcomed five newcomers to the Athletics Hall of Fame on Jan. 7. The inductees included Stanley Burrell, Amber Harris, Ta’Shia Phillips, Louis Witte and Andrew MacWilliams. Burrell was an ‘08 graduate of the men’s basketball team. He was known mainly for his adept defensive skills, despite averaging nearly thirteen points a game as a freshman. Burrell continued to have offensive success in his sophomore year, increasing his points per game average to 14.4 while also collecting All Second Team A10 (Atlantic 10) honors. Women’s basketball races out to 6-0 start

By: Jack Dunn ~Staff Writer~ The Xavier women’s basketball team remains undefeated after a close 61-58 victory over the Michigan Wolverines on Dec. 5. The Musketeers moved to 6-0 while the Wolverines dropped to 7-2. It was one of the closer games of the season, with eight ties and nine lead changes between the two teams. Michigan’s 58 points was a season low for the Wolverines, who normally average 86.4 points per game. College basketball makes long-awaited return

We took a look at some of these squads that play outside of the Big East. After having a down year, the Duke Blue Devils are primed to return to prominence once again. They return Player of the Year candidate junior Grayson Allen along with sophomore Luke Kennard and senior Amile Jefferson, making Duke a favorite to win the national title.
