Track runs at Butler

By: David Woeltz ~Staff Writer~ Xavier track and field competed in its first meet of the outdoor season at the Stan Lyons Invitational hosted by Butler on March 19. The women’s team, led by freshman Kara Robinson’s first place finish in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:05.43, placed fourth out of 12 teams. “Competing in her first 400-meter hurdles in both high school or college, Kara Robinson had our only win of the meet. Track runs wild at UK

By: Donnie Menke ~Staff Writer~ The track and field team opened the 2016 Indoor Season at the Kentucky Track and Field Invitational at the University of Kentucky in Lexington. The highlight of the meet for the women’s team was the 3000 meter race, in which all four runners placed in the top 30, including two in the top 10. Madeline Britton and Sarah Mazzei, with times of 10:02.65 and 10:04.16, finished sixth and seventh. The other two runners, Allison Sinning and Gina Genco, finished 19th and 26th with times of 10:19.17 and 10:26.89, respectively.
