A 38,000 balloon structure was created by artists Sze Tai “Wilson” Pang and Kun Lung Ho with the help of 60 volunteers in Hong Kong. The 137 ft. dragon set the Guinness World Record for the largest dragon balloon sculpture (Feb. 9). 

Oklahoma district judge Traci Soderstrom resigned Friday after sending more than 500 texts during court. She was overseeing a murder trial in the killing of a two-year-old boy, and was found to be sending hundreds of texts from the bench to the bailiff, mocking the prosecutor and complimenting the defense attorney. She agreed to not seek judicial office in Oklahoma again under a proposed settlement agreement (Feb. 9). 

Richard Plaud’s attempt to set the Guinness World Record for the world’s tallest matchstick sculpture, which was previously rejected for using materials too different from standard matchsticks, was accepted. His record-breaking model of the Eiffel Tower, which stands around 23.5 feet tall and more than 700,000 matchsticks, was unveiled last month to his Instagram followers (Feb. 9).
