The rock band Oasis, who cemented themselves in 90s music history, have reunited after 15 years of separation.
Known for releasing songs such as “Wonderwall” and “Don’t Look Back in Anger,” Oasis reached millions of listeners during the height of their popularity.
The band had been dormant since 2009 after guitarist Liam Gallagher and his brother and lead singer Noel Gallagher got into a feud while on their tour in Paris.
For over a decade, there had been speculation of the band getting back together despite both siblings continuously taking shots at each other on X. Hope regarding the band’s reunion seemed to dim more and more as time went on.
That is until Aug. 27, when the official X page for the band posted, “This is it, this is happening,” on a post advertising the Oasis Live ‘25 tour in Europe.

The tour will begin in July of next year and will run until mid-August, with shows being held in Ireland and Great Britain. Tickets went on sale on Saturday morning and all 17 shows sold out within ten hours.
Excitement for the band’s reunion has led to Oasis climbing into the top 20s of the United Kingdom’s music charts with songs such as “Live Forever” claiming the 19th spot on the charts, overtaking tracks from artists including Taylor Swift, Hozier and Coldplay.
The band Oasis, formerly known as The Rain, formed in 1991. Liam Gallagherwas the lead singer during this time with Paul Arthurs as their guitarist, Paul McGuigan as their bassist and Tony McCarroll as their drummer. It wasn’t until later that Liam’s brother, Noel, joined the band as lead singer and guitarist.
It was speculated that in the early years of the band, they had threatened to burn down a venue if they weren’t allowed to play at that location. In an interview a few years later, Noel clarified that they “didn’t threaten to burn the club down. (They) just pointed out to the owner of the club that if he didn’t let (them) play, there were 15 (people with Oasis) and (only) three of them.”
Not long after, the band was signed over to Creation Records and released their most famous album, Definitely Maybe, in 1994. Oasis exploded in popularity with this release, topping music charts and becoming the fastest selling debut album in the U.K.
Oasis’ popularity grew in the 90s, releasing a multitude of No. 1 albums and singles and selling millions of copies worldwide.
The band has been deemed an icon in the rock scene by many fans, placing themselves among the ranks of popular bands of the decade, such as Alice in Chains, Nirvana and The Smashing Pumpkins.
