Women’s soccer drops two games to conference foes, wins another

By: Adam Purvis ~Staff Writer~ Welcome back from fall break, Xavier students. While many of us headed home, relaxed and slept, women’s soccer continued to play games throughout the break. Since the last edition, women’s soccer went up against Providence, Marquette and Seton Hall, facing Providence and Seton Hall at home. The women’s team was supposed to play against Georgetown after its Providence match, but the game was postponed due to inclement weather until Oct. 14. Providence made its way over to Cincinnati on Oct. 1 to take on the Musketeers. Tennis teams play in first tournaments of new season

By: Adam Purvis ~Staff Writer~ Xavier’s men’s and women’s tennis teams traveled to their first tournaments of the season this past weekend. The men’s team took a trip to River Forest, Ill. to compete against Northern Illinois, DePaul, Illinois at Chicago, Butler, Detroit Mercy, Morehead State and Western Michigan, among others. The women’s team traveled to Oxford to participate in the Miami Invitational against Lipscomb, Butler and Miami (Ohio). The men’s team played strong in the first rounds of the tournament on Sept. 11. Men’s soccer drops two

By: Adam Purvis ~Staff Writer~ Xavier’s men’s soccer team came off its overwhelming victory over Eastern Illinois University (8-0) to play three games in the past week. The Musketeers traveled to Madison, Wisc., to compete against the Badgers on Aug. 30, before heading down to Nashville on Sept. 3 to face off against the Lipscomb Bisons. They returned home to play against Virginia Tech on Sept. 6.
