Where they are now: Amber Harris and Ta’Shia Phillips

Ta’Shia Phillips and Amber Harris, graduates of the 2011 class, have perhaps shone the brightest among Xavier women’s basketball players in recent memory. While at Xavier, Phillips was a two-time Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Year, 2008 Rookie of the Year, 2009 A-10 Player of the Year and was selected in 2010 and 2011 as the State Farm Honorable Mention All-American by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association. Xavier falls short in Elite Eight nail-biter against Stanford

By: Kyle Isaacs Only one game away from the school’s first Final Four berth for either basketball program, the Xavier women’s basketball team lost 55-53 on a last-second buzzer-beater to No. 2 Stanford University in the 2010 Sacramento Regional Final of the NCAA Tournament. The Musketeers’ season ended with a 30-4 record and the program’s second Elite Eight appearance. The Cardinal and the Musketeers played an almost even first half, with Xavier trailing by two.
