By: Nick McGill The Xavier basketball team once again overpowered its opponent in a 76-59 win over the Morehead State Eagles Friday night at Cintas Center. Xavier’s record improved to 3-0 for the sixth straight season. At the outset of the game, the two teams battled back and forth, trading the lead until Xavier went on a 12-0 run and then another run of 14-2 to gain a halftime lead of 38-23. Xavier men’s basketball schedule breakdown: Staff writer Nick McGill discusses he Xavier Musketeer’s big potential

By: Nick McGill Xavier men’s basketball is set to begin the 2013-14 season with a fresh start in a new conference. After last season’s less-than-satisfying finish, the Musketeers will begin play as a new affiliate in the Big East conference. As this is Xavier’s inaugural season with the conference, the expectations for a strong season are elevated. The season starts with a slate of non-conference opponents. The first challenge facing the Musketeers will be a home game against the Tennessee Volunteers, who are predicted to finish third in the SEC.
