By: Adam Purvis ~Staff Writer~ While many of us were catching rays, traveling on AB trips or just trying to catch up on our sleep in order to get ready for the struggle that is the end of the semester, the women’s basketball team ended their season in the Big East Tournament on Mar. 5, the first Saturday of break. Two for the road: Women’s basketball drops a pair

By: Donnie Menke ~Staff Writer~ It was a tough week for women’s basketball, dropping both of their games, losing 82-52 on the road against DePaul and losing on the road at Marquette 74-69. Xavier went into the game against DePaul with a three-game winning streak in the Big East. Xavier moved to 17-7 (8-5) on the season, while the DePaul Blue Demons improved to 20-7 (12-2). Imani Partlow was the team’s leading scorer with a career-high 11 points. Partlow was also the team’s leading rebounder, grabbing five boards. Women’s basketball takes care of business

By: Adam Purvis ~Staff Writer~ The women’s basketball team opened its season with two home games against non-conference opponents. The musketeers won 75-51 on Nov. 5 against the Wofford College Terriers and 89-52 against the Arkansas-Pine Bluff Lions. Xavier quickly made up for the early 7-2 deficit by exploding on a 15-2 run, leaving the score 17-9 with 13:02 left to play in the first half. At the half, the Musketeers lead 36-26 against Wofford. Freshman guard Marquia Turner had a nice collegiate debut, leading the team with 8 points on 50 percent 3-point shooting at the half.
