Swimming takes third place at Cleveland State

By: Kyle Isaacs Prior to heading home for Thanksgiving break, the Xavier men’s and women’s swimming teams headed north to Cleveland to compete in the Cleveland State Magnus Cup. Both teams finished third place in the two-day event with a field of six teams. The men’s team tallied 1,052.5 points while the women’s side finished with 1,148 points. The meet was the final team event of the fall semester, with a few individual swimmers moving on to the USA Short Course Nationals this week in Knoxville, Tenn. Women’s swimming speeds past Bulldogs

By: Nikjil Jelaji The Xavier women’s swim team won its second meet in two days, taking down the Butler University Bulldogs 74-52 at O’Connor Sports Center on Saturday afternoon. The Musketeers’ 200 medley relay started the afternoon with a small margin of victory. Junior Jacquelyn Misanik, sophomore Haley Dresner, senior Lynn Brotherton and junior Carly Davis won by a narrow four-tenths of a second. Sophomore Molly Kroeger and freshman Mikaela Saugsted won the 2×500 free relay. The two Musketeers teamed up for a time of 10:41.98.
