Comedy thrives at Go Bananas

By: Grant Vance ~Staff Writer~ Go Bananas Comedy Club welcomed back Cincinnati native Alex Stone this past weekend, Jan. 29-31, in honor of his debut album to be released later this year. Making the trip back home from his current residency in Chicago, Stone was welcomed with open arms and plenty of laughs for his hour long standup set, accompanied by feature act Laura Sanders and host Josh O’Neill, a Xavier junior. There are dramatic, musical and comedic shows produced by the department both for theatre and non-theatre major students. Hammond to announce “SNL”

By: Zenab Saeed ~Staff Writer~ Comedian and actor Darrell Hammond is set to replace Don Pardo as the announcer on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” (SNL). Pardo, a notable radio and television announcer who had a successful career for the past 70 years, died in his sleep at the age of 96 on Aug. 10.
