Men’s basketball trounces Quincy in opener

By: Nick McGill Xavier fans got a taste of what the Musketeers are capable of this year after a dominating 84-54 win over the Quincy Hawks on Saturday. The men’s basketball team opened up its 2013-14 campaign with an exhibition match at home against Quincy (Ill.). Fans filed into Cintas Center to get their first glimpse of the home team that has much potential. Quincy overpowered the Musketeers in the opening minutes to gain an early 17-7 lead. Xavier’s 2013-14 freshman playmakers

By: Nikhil Jelaji Despite coming up short last season and missing the NCAA men’s basketball tournament for the first time since 2005, the future looks bright for the Xavier Musketeers this year. The 2013-14 season features a freshman class that looks to bring the Musketeers back to the NCAA tournament. The new faces joining the Musketeers are Myles Davis, Brandon Randolph, Jalen Reynolds, Kamall Richards and walk-on Tim Stainbrook (brother of junior center Matt Stainbrook).
