By: Tim Wilmes Senior cross country standout Clare Fischer competed in the NCAA Championship meet held in Terre Haute, Ind. on Nov. 23. Fischer finished 203rd overall with a time of 22:06.3 against a group of the nation’s top runners. The four-year Xavier star recently recorded her personal best time of 20:47 at the Great Lakes Regional. In the last cross country meet of her career, Fischer represented her university as the first Xavier runner to compete in the NCAA Championship meet. Cross Country hopes for hot start out of the gate

By: Chris Behler After two top 20 finishes at regionals this past season (men–19th and women–13th), both the men and women’s teams are looking to pick up right where they left off. Leading the women this year will be twin sisters Clare and Abby Fischer; both of whom earned their places in the Xavier history books at regionals with fastest times in the 6K, 21:22 and 21:34 respectively. Right now, superb students and athletes alike are marching into an unknown and yet incredibly promising future together. Now, with Xavier’s inaugural year in the Big East underway, the potential for excellence at this university stretches further than ever before.
