The Boston Celtics managed to overtake the Cleveland Cavaliers for the top seed in the Eastern Conference, despite Cleveland holding the spot for most of the year. The Portland Trail Blazers clinched the final seed in the Western Conference after the Nuggets, the last team that could catch them, lost on a 36 foot Russell Westbrook three-pointer at the buzzer.
