Cincinnati edge out Kansas City at AFC Championship game By Joe Clark, Sports Editor The Cincinnati Bengals defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 27-24 in overtime on Sunday afternoon in the AFC Championship game, clinching the team’s third trip to the Super Bowl, the first since 1989. Cincinnati trailed 21-10 at the half after trailing 21-3 earlier in the game. The playoff picture was not determined until the Sunday night game, as the Las Vegas Raiders and the Los Angeles Chargers battled it out until the final seconds of overtime with a game-winning field goal by Raiders kicker Daniel Carlson. There are some familiar teams in this year’s playoffs as well as some new faces, such as the Arizona Cardinals, Las Vegas Raiders, Philadelphia Eagles and the Cincinnati Bengals. NFL Playoffs start off slow

By: Kyle Tooley ~Sports Editor~ After a lackluster Wild Card weekend that saw the closest matchup decided by two scores, the NFL Playoffs continue with the Divisional round on Jan. 14 and 15, with two games played on both days. Saturday’s slate will see Seattle travel to Atlanta and Houston take on the Patriots in Foxborough, Mass. Sunday’s action will feature Pittsburgh at Kansas City and Green Bay at Dallas.
