Women’s soccer off to a strong start

By: Nikhil Jelaji The Xavier women’s soccer team is off to the best start since 1990 after a 1-0 victory over Morehead State on Sept. 15. The Musketeers remain undefeated with an overall record of 5-0-1. The Musketeers were scoreless after the first 72 minutes as they battled it out against Morehead State. Xavier freshman midfielder Maggie Hare scored the decisive goal at 72:35 in the second half. Men’s soccer drops ranked matchup

By: Nikhil Jelaji The Xavier men’s soccer team surrendered two first-half goals to Northwestern University (NU) on Saturday and lost 0-2 against the Wildcats. The first goal came just a minute into the game when Grant Wilson found sophomore forward Joey Calistri, who beat the Musketeer defense to the ball and struck the ball in the upper left corner of the goal. Baseball faces curveball test

By: Nikhil Jelaji The Xavier Musketeers baseball team dropped the series finale to Charlotte 3-2 on April 20. Both teams are at 8-4 in the Atlantic 10, while Xavier holds a 21-17 overall record. The first runs weren’t scored until the fifth inning. The first four innings were a back-and-forth pitch battle between redshirt senior Tyler Koors and Charlotte’s Brock Hudgens. The Niners scored two runs in the fifth inning, scoring on RBI singles. The Musketeers answered back with a run in the bottom of the fifth inning.
