After a brief hiatus, students have the option to participate in group fitness By Ryan Breece, Staff Writer Group fitness classes returned to Recreational Sports at the Health United Building (HUB) last week.  In response to a student petition and an expressed desire for the program by students and employees at the HUB, Xavier’s administration has provided the program with a part-time TriHealth employee in order to bring the program back.  In October 2021, the coordinator for rec sports’ group fitness program resigned, leaving the position vacant. Sarver likely to sell Suns after scandal

By Ryan Breece, Staff Writer Phoenix Suns Majority Owner Robert Sarver, announced his plans to sell his stake in the team on Wednesday, Sept. 21. His decision follows a suspension issued by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver and pressure from others around the league and in the Phoenix community.  The suspension is due to recent findings of an independent investigation into racist and sexist comments and actions made in the past. The investigation, led by a combination of law firms, was prompted by a Nov. 2021 ESPN article detailing allegations of sex-related and racist comments. XU pauses group fitness classes

Students start web petition to restart program amid university hiring freeze By Molly Hulligan and Ryan Breece, Head Copy Editor and Guest Writer Group fitness classes at the Health United Building (HUB) were paused indefinitely in a new move made by administration at the beginning of the fall semester.  With this decision, 23 students lost their jobs as group fitness instructors.  Group fitness classes provided a space for students to attend specific fitness programs led by a student instructor who specialized in that exercise.
