By: David Woeltz ~Staff Writer~ Game Story: In a conference that allows little room for error, the Xavier Musketeers (19-2, 7-2 Big East) were able to secure a tougher than expected 86-65 victory at DePaul (7-14, 1-8 BE) after a sluggish start. It looked as if DePaul was ready to upset Xavier for the second straight season at Allstate Center after jumping out to an early 9-0 lead over the Musketeers. The team jumped to No. 12 in the Associated Press poll and was looking to avoid a post-success meltdown at the hands of the Hilltoppers. Previewing the city’s biggest rivalry By: Adam Tortelli ~Staff Writer~ Feb. 18 marks another chapter in one of the greatest rivalries in all of college basketball as Xavier men’s basketball takes on its crosstown rival, the University of Cincinnati (UC) Bearcats. The matchup between Cincinnati’s two premier college basketball programs dates back to the 1928 season when UC came to play at St. Xavier College’s state-of-the-art Schmidt Fieldhouse.
