Volleyball hosts Xavier tournament

By Owen Miguel, Guest Writer Cintas Center hosted a women’s volleyball tournament last weekend, where fans saw Lipscomb, No. 6 Purdue, No. 10 Louisville and Xavier play.  To kick off the weekend, Xavier defeated Lipscomb 3-2. The first set was a close battle with Lipscomb taking it 25-23, but Xavier responded by winning the next two sets 25-23 and 25-18.  Lipscomb took the next set 25-19, setting up a do-or-die final set. Xavier pulled through in the final set 15-12, winning the set and the game. Head Coach Christy Pfeffenberger looks ahead to fall season By Jake Geiger, Staff WRiter After pandemic postponements forced the women’s volleyball team to play their season in spring instead of the fall, Xavier volleyball is gearing up for a normal 2021 season.  Head Coach Christy Pfeffenberger emphasized that the team will need more endurance mentally and physically to achieve success after its back-to-back seasons. Volleyball continues Big East domination

Currently, the volleyball team is 9-3 in conference play and 13-10 overall after two more wins during this Halloween weekend to continue a three-game win streak. One of these matches pitted Xavier against St. John’s in New York.
