Men’s soccer sets optimistic goals for 2021

Xavier, FC Cincy faceoff in friendly

By: Brendan Burris ~Staff Writer~ The Xavier men’s soccer team is set to face hometown United Soccer League (USL) team FC Cincinnati in a friendly match as a part of both teams’ preparation for their upcoming seasons. The game will take place at 7 p.m. on Friday at the Xavier Soccer Complex. For the Musketeers, the game will be their second preseason match so far, with four more taking place and the last being April 29. Jalen Brown drafted by New York City FC

Now, Brown will take that playmaking ability and eye for the net to the pros. Brown was drafted in the second round (38th overall) in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft on Jan. 13 by New York City Football Club (NYCFC), the MLS team partially owned by both the New York Yankees and Manchester City of the English Premier League.
