Volleyball opens Big East play

By: Isabel Smith ~Staff Writer~ Xavier volleyball kicked off Big East conference play on Sept. 23 and 24 on the road against St. John’s and Seton Hall. The Musketeers captured the opener at St. John’s in a four set win and fell short against Seton Hall in a four set loss. Xavier won its Big East opener for the second straight year in its match against St. John’s. The Musketeers also moved to 8-0 all-time against the Red Storm. Volleyball ready for Big East play

By: Julia Haber ~Guest Writer~ The Xavier women’s volleyball team is currently prepping for its Big East opener against St. John’s, which will take place on Sept. 23 in New York. The Musketeers are led by a variety of players and will need to be on top of their game against a competitive Red Storm squad. Senior Abby Bessler has led the team, recording 191 kills in just 13 matches, which is good for second in the conference. Volleyball tops Northwestern

By: Luke Feliciano ~Guest Writer~ The Xavier women’s volleyball team dropped the first two games of the Dayton Invitational to Dayton and Chattanooga, respectively, but capped off the weekend by sweeping the Northwestern Wildcats three sets to none. In the opening game of the invitational, the Musketeers had a tough matchup against an undefeated Dayton Flyer team. They were able to halt the Flyers from completing the straight set sweep but ended up losing the match three sets to one.
