XUPD welcomes new officer

Chief Warfel swears in Cincinnati native, Jesse Powers, as the newest officer of the Xavier University Police Department.

Xavier University’s Police Department has added a new member to its ranks. On Jan. 31, Jesse Powers was sworn in as an officer by Chief Robert Warfel.

A Cincinnati native, Powers was born and raised in Mason, Ohio, and is a graduate of Moeller High School. Last year, he received his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Cincinnati.

Previosuly, Powers has interned with the Cincinnati Police Department. He brings further expertise to XUPD as a recent graduate of the Butler Tech Police Academy.

Powers is looking forward to continuing to give back to his hometown and immerse himself in the Xavier community.
