The 2025 Emmy Awards were a night filled with sweeping victories, emotions, reunions and of course, stunning fashion choices.
Stand up comedian Nate Bargatze hosted the show in a refreshing manner, right after he performed in a reenactment of a former SNL sketch. He wanted to try a new way of hosting award shows that usually go way over the scheduled projected time.
Bargatze started a donation of $100,000 for the Boys & Girls Club of America, saying he would add $1,000 to the total for every second a speech was under the 45-second mark and deduct $1,000 for every second that an acceptance speech went over 45 seconds.
Many celebrities presented the awards, including Alexis Bledel and Lauren Graham, known for their roles in “Gilmore Girls.” The pair reunited at the Emmy Awards in honor of the show’s 25th anniversary.
The hit show from Apple TV “The Studio” won 13 awards, including Best Comedy Series. It made history as the most awarded comedy ever at the Emmy’s. Seth Rogen, the co-creator and star of “The Studio,” also tied the record for most Emmy Awards won by an individual in a single year with four wins altogether.

The 77th Emmy Awards celebrated the achievements of the television industry on Sunday night.
HBO Max’s “The Pitt” took home three awards, including Best Drama Series, beating out top contenders such as “The White Lotus” and “Severance.” “The Pitt” star Noah Wyle, also known for his role in 1990s drama series “ER,” won the award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.
Furthermore, Owen Cooper, an actor from the show “Adolescence,” has broken Emmy Award records. This made him the youngest person to win an award for best supporting actor in a limited series at only 15-years-old. Cooper demonstrated that anyone can accomplish their goals if they challenge themselves and step out of their comfort zone.
“If you listen and you focus and you step out of your comfort zone, you can achieve anything in life. I was nothing about three years ago. I’m here now,” Cooper said.
Stephen Colbert, best known for being the host for “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert,” received an Emmy for the Best Outstanding Talk Series. It is only fitting that “The Late Show” won the award as they plan to officially end the show in May 2026 because of financial issues. The decision came from CBS’s parent company, Paramount.
Colbert expressed his gratitude and farewell in his acceptance speech for “The Late Show.”
“Sometimes you only know how much you love something when you get a sense you might be losing it. I have never loved my country more desperately. God bless America,” Colbert said.
Another one of the big draws into the Emmys are the outfits shown on the stage and red carpet. Many actors and their designers got creative with fashion trends to fit what they were being nominated for or based on something going on in their career.
“Wednesday” star Jenna Ortega wore a glamorous Givenchy top made of multi-colored jewels, crystals and pearls. Her black skirt had a thigh-high slit as well as strappy black Louboutin platform shoes. Ortega’s outfit was inspired by Lisle von Rhuman, a character from a classic film called “Death Becomes Her,” which is now a musical on Broadway.
Selena Gomez made an appearance on the red carpet wearing a red Louis Vuitton gown and her fiance Benny Blanco in a custom black suit. Gomez was nominated for her Hulu series “Only Murders in the Building” in the Outstanding Comedy Series category. Gomez and Blanco attended the Emmys as a way to celebrate, before their wedding later this month.
At the end, Bargatze wasn’t able to get the actors to keep their speeches short, so he stepped in himself. He told the audience he would promise that he would donate $250,000 to the charity, and CBS donated an additional $100,000.
