Club profile: Habitat for Humanity

By: Raymond Humienny ~Campus News Editor~ Xavier Habitat for Humanity (H4H) will hold a “Fall Call Out” meeting at 8:00 p.m. on Sept. 14 in Albers 103 for students wishing to join. Xavier H4H is a student- based organization under the advisory of the Dorothy Day Center for Faith and Justice. Every year, H4H is assigned a location within the Southwestern Ohio and Northern Kentucky region to help build and renovate substandard housing for the homeless. During the past three years, H4H has helped build homes in Cumminsville, Over-the-Rhine (OTR) and the historic district of Newport, Ky. Xavier soccer helps to bring awareness

By: Andrew Utz ~Staff Writer~ The Xavier Men’s Soccer team wrapped up the 2014-15 year when they hosted Northwestern in the fourth annual Devin’s Game on April 25. The cold and rain did not stop Xavier fans from watching their team battle through the night in a 2-1 loss. Freshman forward Matt Vasquenza gave the Musketeers a leg up before the end of the half. His half-field run gave Xavier the 1-0 lead after 36 minutes. The second half tipped in favor of the visitors. Campus Climate Survey raises sexual assault awareness

By: Justin Worthing ~Staff Writer~ Xavier is conducting its fourth annual Campus Climate Survey to measure student, faculty and staff awareness of campus sexual assault programs, knowledge of appropriate sexual harassment responses and perception of sexual assault on campus, among other factors. Title IX coordinator Kate Lawson encourages all students, faculty and staff to complete the brief survey by 5 p.m. on April 30 at Xavier’s Title IX’s website (xavier.edu/titleix). Colleges and universities across the country have used climate surveys to evaluate the effectiveness of their sexual assault prevention programs.
