Disney’s LeFou comes out of the closet

By: Riley Head ~Staff Writer~ Days away from the Friday release of their highly anticipated live-action Beauty and the Beast remake, Disney producers have made a statement that the character LeFou is gay. LeFou is the sidekick of Gaston, the fairy tale’s notoriously conceited antagonist. LeFou’s main role in the story is fanning Gaston’s ego and acting as his hype man. Xavier thespian spurs growth at alma mater

By: Zenab Saeed ~Staff Writer~ Katie Geckle, a theology major graduating in December, is exploring the world of theater in an impressive and unique way: as McAuley High School’s theater director and teacher. An alumna of the Cincinnati high school, Geckle once again became involved in McAuley’s theater program last year when the school was in need of a director for its spring musical and approached her for the job after she had assisted in its fall play.
