Georgetown plays Cinderella, wins Big East

By: Joe Laurich, Staff Writer After being picked to finish last according to the Big East Preseason Coaches Poll, the Georgetown Hoyas rallied on Saturday to win the Big East Tournament. They entered the tournament as No. 8 seed in the conference, but their underdog status couldn’t stop the Patrick Ewing-led Hoyas from earning an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. During the regular season, Georgetown won four of their last six games. Xavier students victorious at entrepreneur competition

Written By Joseph Cotton, Campus News Editor Seniors Tucker O’Neill and Beck Apple won the second prize of $350 while representing Xavier at the virtual 2021 Big East Startup Challenge last Thursday.  O’Neill and Apple are co-founders of Environmental Solution Technologies (EST) which is the idea that was presented at the competition.  EST’s mission is to revolutionize the way forest fires are tracked, analyzed and extinguished in order to decrease environmental and structural damage and protect people from the dangers they present.
