Cavs, Warriors favorites in NBA Playoffs

The Boston Celtics managed to overtake the Cleveland Cavaliers for the top seed in the Eastern Conference, despite Cleveland holding the spot for most of the year. The Portland Trail Blazers clinched the final seed in the Western Conference after the Nuggets, the last team that could catch them, lost on a 36 foot Russell Westbrook three-pointer at the buzzer. Blatt goes splat: Cavaliers fire coach

By: Adam Tortelli ~Staff Writer~ In unprecedented fashion, the Cleveland Cavaliers fired head coach David Blatt this past weekend despite a dominant 30-11 start that has positioned the team atop the Eastern Conference for the majority of this season. This move marks the first time since the NBA/ABA merger back in 1970 that a head coach was fired while his team was first in its respective conference. Dee Davis going for NBA dream

By: Paul Fritschner ~Staff Writer~ While not as extensive as Major League Baseball’s minor league system, the NBA’s Developmental League is a place where potential NBA players can improve their talent and showcase their skills to NBA teams. Not every NBA team has a D-League team attached to them, as there are only 18 members of the D-League. One Xavier men’s basketball graduate recently received an invitation to attend the Canton Charge training camp.
