Peculiar motor accident kills nine

By Ethan Nichols, Staff Writer A 13 year-old boy was driving a pickup truck when it collided with a van carrying a university golf team. The accident killed nine people in West Texas last Tuesday, including the golf coach, six players, the 13-year-old and an unidentified man in the truck. At a press conference, Bruce Landsberg, vice chairman of the National Transportation Safety Board, said that the truck was using a spare tire which blew out and caused the truck to swerve into the adjacent killing, resulting in a head-on collision with the van. This is not said to criticize sufferers but to bring to light the counterpoint: Those around them can help them heal. When we look at people who suffer, their suffering seems to define them. Joan Rivers dies at 81

By: Allison Wisyanski ~Staff Writer~ Joan Rivers died unexpectedly at the age of 81 at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, N.Y., a shock to the entertainment industry, her family and her international fan base. The cause of death has been linked to heart disease . She was taken to an outpatient surgery clinic after going into cardiac arrest and losing consciousness during a surgery procedure on her vocal cords.
