Retreat offers students spiritual exploration

By: Regina Wright ~Staff Writer~ The Dorothy Day Center for Faith and Justice (CFJ) offered the bi-annual Approach overnight retreat to Higher Ground Retreat Center in Logan, Ind. Approach is an introductory Christian based retreat held in the fall and winter. It is driven by student narratives. “Rooted in Christianity, the retreat calls students to a greater awareness to God in the world around them and serves as an introduction to the importance of reflection in one’s everyday ‘approach’ to life,” according to the CFJ’s website. CFJ sells T-shirts to fundraise for Typhoon Haiyan relief

By: Gina Carfagno In response to the devastation facing the Philippines post-Super Typhoon Haiyan, the Asian Pacific Society, with help from the Dorothy Day Center for Faith and Justice are selling t-shirts to fundraise for relief efforts. The proceeds from the t-shirt sales will go to relief in the Philippines.   Because there are students on campus who have family in the Philippines, the Asian Pacific Society wanted to come together to help people with those dealing with the aftermath of the storm.   The t-shirts are red with white writing.
