He explained the still-developing Xavier Way initiative, the current budget issues facing Xavier and the university’s plan for tackling the future. The Xavier Way is an initiative that will be a strategic map, but not plan (which would focus on specific initiatives and their achievement) that guides the university forward for decades to come. Administrators announce details of budget shortfall

By: Taylor Fulkerson & Justin Worthing ~Managing Editor & Staff Writer~ University administrators announced the size of the fall’s pending budget shortfall and the strategies employed to ameliorate it this week. According to a letter from President, Fr. Michael Graham, S.J., addressed to “the Campus Community,” there is a potential budget shortfall of approximately $8 million for this fiscal year. Graham’s letter, published on Oct. 23, addressed concerns over the shortfall. Graham announces budget shortfall

Michael Graham, S.J. announced that the university would undergo another budget shortfall this academic year during the University Convocation on Sept. 8. Graham noted that there was a budget shortfall for the summer period, and “that there is going to be a shortfall in the fall, and that that will be several orders of magnitude larger than the summer numbers.
