By: Adam Tortelli ~Staff Writer~ Game summary: Xavier men’s basketball continued its historic season this past week with hard-fought victories over the St. John’s Red Storm and the Golden Eagles of Marquette University before dropping an ugly game to the Creighton Bluejays. Xavier entered its Feb. 3 matchup with St. John’s (7-18, 0-12 Big East) favored by 23.5 points, but faced much stiffer competition than expected in a 90-83 win. Xavier wins Orlando tournament

By: Brent Raines ~Sports Editor~ Game Summary: The past two weeks have been good for Xavier basketball. The team went to Ann Arbor, Mich. on Nov. 20 and knocked off No. 24 Michigan, putting Xavier on the national radar and earning them a No. 23 ranking. Perhaps because of that ranking, the Musketeers toiled through a lethargic win against local opponent Northern Kentucky on Nov. 23. The Advocare Invitational at Disney World provided the platform for Xavier to really take off, as the Musketeers blew out Alabama and USC over Thanksgiving to reach the finals of the tournament. Xavier dominant as postseason is underway

By: Adam Tortelli ~Staff Writer~ Xavier men’s basketball spent this past weekend in New York City for the Big East Tournament, falling to Villanova in the championship game. The world-famous Madison Square Garden combined with one of the nation’s most talent-filled conferences made for an action-packed four days that drew attention from basketball enthusiasts coast-to-coast. After running through the conference during regular season play, top-seeded Villanova continued its dominance on its way to a tournament championship.
