Xavier displays special edition of the Bible

By: Maddie Day St. John’s University loaned Xavier’s library two volumes of the St. John’s Bible Heritage Edition for the fall semester, and the books are now on display for the Xavier community. The two volumes are full-size, handwritten manuscripts bound in Italian leather, printed on custom cotton paper and illustrated using ancient inks and hand-ground paints. Each volume features gold and silver illuminations, exquisite calligraphy and modern imagery that together capture the essence of the original St. John’s Bible manuscript.
