Xavier falls to Marquette, reducing their chances of March Madness

Written By: Jake Geiger, Staff Writer Xavier ended their regular season campaign in a disappointing fashion, falling to the Marquette Golden Eagles 66-59 at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee. With its win, Marquette improved to 13-13 and 8-11 in the Big East, while Xavier fell to 13-7 and 6-7 in the Big East. The Musketeers are now at risk of missing March Madness, according to several bracketologists.  Xavier adjusted the starting lineup on Saturday, inserting freshman wing C.J. Wilcher for senior forward Jason Carter. Musketeers head to Orlando for NCAA Tournament after tough defeat in NYC

By: Kyle Tooley ~Sports Editor~ After falling a game short of the championship in the Big East Tournament in New York City last week, the men’s basketball team is gearing up for its 15th NCAA Tournament appearance since 2000. The Musketeers will travel to Orlando for tomorrow’s game against the Maryland Terrapins of the Big Ten. Xavier opened the Big East Tournament with a win against the last-place DePaul Blue Demons, whom Xavier had already topped twice during the regular season.
