According o the International Olympic Committee (IOC), there are 91 delegations at the games with over 2,900 athletes competing in 109 events. There are 15 different disciplines across seven sports, with new events in bobsled, freestyle skiing, snowboarding, short track and ski jumping. Pandemic guidelines restricted attendance, added enhanced safety protocols By Alex Budzynski, Editor-in-Chief After being postponed for a year, the 2020 Summer Olympics closed on Sunday after 16 days of competition. The Games opened on July 23 with a simple opening ceremony and the traditional Parade of Nations.
