Xavier teams up with the Ohio Innocence Project

Written by: Chloe Salveson, Staff Writer In collaboration with the Ohio Innocence Project (OIP), several Xavier programs co-hosted an event about criminal justice reform last Wednesday. Now, Xavier is actively working to start a new chapter of the OIP at the university.  Co-sponsored by Xavier’s Pre-Law Program, the Pre-Law Society, the Psi/Chi Psychology club, and the Criminal Justice Society, students were joined by exoneree Laurese Glover in a conversation about his own exoneration as a means to examine the current judicial system. Club Profile: Phi Alpha Delta pre-law Chapter

By: Liz Slocum ~Staff Writer~ Last week, Xavier University’s pre-law chapter of Phi Alpha Delta became an official campus club, giving the organization the chance to recruit on campus. The chapter currently has 31 members and many more awaiting initiation but can always use more members. With the goal of helping students interested in law to learn more about law school and legal professions, Phi Alpha Delta holds events such as LSAT preparation, judge speakers, and visiting courts during hearings, in addition to completing community service and hosting social functions throughout the school year.
