Baseball ready to spring into action

By: Paul Fritschner ~Staff Writer~ It may be below freezing outside with snow still left on the ground, but it’s just about time to stock up on Cracker Jack for baseball season. Xavier’s baseball team is looking to bounce back from a tough season in 2015. It won the Big East tournament and earned an NCAA tournament bid in 2014 but stumbled to a 15-38 record last season. The Musketeers 3-15 record in the Big East left them to settle as the caboose in the conference. Baseball faces curveball test

By: Nikhil Jelaji The Xavier Musketeers baseball team dropped the series finale to Charlotte 3-2 on April 20. Both teams are at 8-4 in the Atlantic 10, while Xavier holds a 21-17 overall record. The first runs weren’t scored until the fifth inning. The first four innings were a back-and-forth pitch battle between redshirt senior Tyler Koors and Charlotte’s Brock Hudgens. The Niners scored two runs in the fifth inning, scoring on RBI singles. The Musketeers answered back with a run in the bottom of the fifth inning.
