Women’s golf spearheaded by key players

Written By: Curt Berry, Staff WRiter Despite Saturday’s challenging weather, the Xavier women’s golf team finished in 13th place in the Women’s Indiana Invitational Golf Tournament.  The Musketeers shot a total of +44 throughout a total of 54 holes the past weekend, competing against Kent State, who shot eight under par.  Emma McMyler had a great weekend, finishing in 29th place out of all of the individual players. She shot three over par with a 75, a 77 and an even 72 on her final day. Golf tees off in Myrtle Beach

By: Josh Bozzick ~Staff Writer~ The Xavier men’s and women’s golf teams began their seasons on Sept. 11 as they participated in the Golfweek Program Challenge in Myrtle Beach, S.C. The women’s team finished in 12th place out of 16 teams after a final round combined score of 316 and an 80 over par for the competition. Shooting a final round combined score of 298 were the men, who finished last in the 16- team field overall, shooting a 37 above par for the competition. Golf swings for success

By: Brendan Burris ~Staff Writer~ As spring spreads in the Midwest, the men’s and women’s golf teams are off to a strong start in their seasons. Most recently, the women’s team took part in the Little Rock/ Arkansas State Women’s Golf Classic in Maumelle, Ark., finishing with a two-day team score of 955, eighth out of the nine teams that participated. Of the four players who participated in the event, senior Shane Crutchfield and freshman Mikayla Smith finished in the top 25.
