SAC to host upcoming events

By: Jenny Mendoza ~Staff Writer~

Xavier’s Student Activities Council (SAC) is providing a slew of winter activities this semester and three of them are quickly approaching.

Dan Lornitis is a comedian and hypnotist who will be performing at 7 p.m. this Wednesday, Jan. 22 in the Gallagher Student Theater. The Live Entertainment committee on SAC sponsors the show and the entire event is completely free. Lornitis was on campus in the fall semester to perform a show for the athletes at Xavier and he is very excited to be coming back for the rest of the student body.  For hockey fans, SAC is selling tickets for the Cincinnati Cyclones Hockey Game. Ticket sales are from 1-2 p.m. on Wednesday Jan. 22 in the Fenwick Place Atrium. One all card per person, two tickets per ALL card. The trip date is January 29. The last event for the month of January event that SAC is sponsoring is Ski Trip. Ski Trip is an annual event that the SAC committee Campus Traditions puts on.

This year the event chair is Brian Murphy, who has worked extremely diligently to prepare a wonderful evening for the student body.  SAC will be bussing approximately 90 students on Friday, Jan. 31 to Perfect North Ski slopes. The busses will be leaving Buenger Circle at 8p.m. Friday evening and will be returning around 1 a.m.  Tickets are $20 per student. Tickets include both lift tickets and ski/snowboard rentals. They will be sold at 4 p.m. this Thursday, Jan. 23 in the Gallagher Student Center (GSC). SAC is selling two tickets per ALL-Card, one ALL-Card per student. Megan O’Donnell is the chair of Campus Traditions committee. “The evening is an extremely fun and active night with your friends and fellow Xavier students.  Personally, it was one of my favorite events that SAC planned last year, and I cannot wait for it again this year,” O’Donnell said.
