“The Lego Movie” makes you regret ever putting down those wondrous pieces of plastic. There’s so much to this movie that makes it one of the most important animated movies of the decade.
Its phenomenal cast, imaginative animation and smart narrative make it a well-done film.
Much of “The Lego Movie” is worth appreciating, but its best quality lies in its ability to appeal to all ages.
Seriously people go see this movie like now
Not only does it succeed in being a “movie for the whole family,” but it also utilizes a clever subtext of social commentary.
The story is skillfully written and enhanced by incredible animation that makes looking away from the screen an impressive feat.
Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the directors and writers of the film, have proven their prowess in the animated realm before with “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs” and in the live action direction of “21 Jumpstreet.”
Both are great films, but “The Lego Movie” has raised the bar for the already respected filmmakers.
Discussing the cast would be impossible considering the size and talent behind it, but part of the fun is trying to figure out which of the stars are voicing the LEGO figures.
The range of actors and cameos is just another impressive component to this film Lord and Miller are currently working on “22 Jumpstreet,” and a sequel to “The Lego Movie” is already in the works.
