The iconic house from television show “Breaking Bad,” where main character Walter White’s family lived, is officially on the market for a whopping $4 million. That’s nearly 10 times the average home price in the neighborhood. Located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, this house has four bedrooms, two bathrooms and a backyard pool that was featured in some of the show’s most memorable scenes.
For five seasons, “Breaking Bad” fans watched the crazy new life of a high school chemistry teacher unfold in White’s iconic house. The house became an instantly recognizable landmark, with its exteriors and backyard featured in tons of key scenes. It’s been a major tourist attraction for over a decade.
While homes in the area usually go for around $421,000, this property has become a must-see spot for “Breaking Bad” fans from all over. The fame though has come with its downsides. Homeowner Joanne Quintana has mentioned how the constant stream of tourists has affected her family’s day-to-day life.
Quintana told her local TV station KOB4 that “this was our family home from 1973, almost 52 years, so we’re going to walk away with just our memories. It’s time to move on. We’re done. There’s no reason to fight any more.”
Hundreds of cars pass by the house every day. Fans have gone so far as to recreate one of the show’s most famous moments – the pizza-on-the-roof scene. Vince Gilligan, the creator of the show, even had to step in back in 2015, asking fans to stop throwing pizzas on the roof. After a fan left a package addressed to White on their doorstep, the family decided enough was enough and put up extra security.
People on a Reddit thread had noticed driving by the infamous house that the roof seemed different, and it was almost like the pizza would slide completely off the roof entirely. It is now a metal sheet roof. The reason for the metal roof is because of how many pizzas damaged the roof from the grease sitting there for prolonged periods of time. Reddit fans also noticed how the house has many more security features, such as a massive black fence around the plot.

There are currently different “Breaking Bad”-themed stores around the Albuquerque area. However no formal museum has been made.
Now, the house is officially for sale. It’s practically a museum for die-hard fans. The steep price tag on the house really reflects its shift from a family home to a potential tourist hotspot or collectible. The owner has seen how much the house means to “Breaking Bad” fans, even though some of their actions over the years weren’t exactly appreciated. Still, she’s open to the idea of the house being turned into a museum or bed and breakfast for fans. So, while the house might have started as a place where the White family lived, its future could be all about keeping the “Breaking Bad” legacy alive for fans around the world.
