SGA Notes Feb. 10, 2025: Success Coaching Rebrands to Expand Outreach

By Rory McNelley, Staff Writer

Associate Dean of Students Angie Kneflin and colleagues spoke about their transition from Success Coaches to what will now be called Care Managers.

“We are aiming to provide 360-degree wrap-around support. We are focused on the Jesuit value cura personalis, care for the whole person. Every student deserves to have someone to walk with them. As care managers, that is our goal,” Kneflin said.

The care management administrative team stressed their desire to support all students by having many resources available. If a student is in need of support of any kind, their offices are located on the fifth floor of the Conative Learning Commons, and they actively monitor the student concern form.

Along with Kneflin, Kristin Kucia, who is the Assistant Director of Care and Support Services, and Ashley Henkes and Chelsea Benton, who both serve as Associate Directors of Care and Support Services, were present. Cole Jackson is serving as an Assistant Director with Kucia but was unable to attend the meeting.

In other business:

  • A mini library will be built outside the Gallagher Student Center.
  • Physical Plant is working to put monitors on the new washer and dryers to better track when they are available or broken. These are being installed over the summer.
  • All student organizations are being required to update their bylaws this summer. The last university-wide update was in 2018.
