On Monday, Sal Vulcano, known for his appearance on the popular TV show “Impractical Jokers,” filled the audience with laughter at his live comedy show at the Cintas Center Banquet Room within Xavier University.

All seats were completely filled; tickets for the show sold out in minutes by the majority of the Xavier student body for only $5 each. This one-night stand-up comedy show was one of the most anticipated events of the semester brought to campus by Xavier University’s Office of Student Involvement.

The Cintas doors opened at 6:00 pm, and the show began at 7:00 pm, with first-come, first-served seating. Many Xavier fans waited outside before opening to claim good spots.

The two-hour event featured comedian Chris Johnston as the opening act, followed by Sal Vulcano as the main event. He entertained the crowd with funny stories ranging from college housing experiences to his own personal relationships. Sal was also interactive with his audience, making the show feel more engaging and authentic.

“The only thing that I could say is ‘dream come true.’ I not only was fortunate enough to sit front and center, but to also be given various opportunities to interact with him,”  first-year Philosophy, Politics and the Public and international studies major Marie Vaughns said. “He even called out my roommate for activities I can’t necessarily share, but it was definitely a hilarious moment for me.”

Many Xavier student fans showed their support by wearing custom shirts of Sal Vulcano’s face and even brought banners for the comedian to see.

Additionally, many of his fans know him from the television hit comedy show “Impractical Jokers” where he stars alongside his four lifelong friends including James “Murr” Murray, Brain “Q” Quinn, and Joe Gatto who previously left the show in 2021.

On Monday, Xavier students lined the Cintas Center Banquet Room to see Sal Vulcano perform a live comedy show.

The group competes to embarrass each other, popular for their hidden-camera pranks in public. Some of his current fans know Sal Vulcano from popular memes including “Tanka Jahari” because he would “never order a whole pizza for himself.”

“I absolutely loved the show’s impractical jokes as a little girl, and it just grew with me. This is my first comedy show and I’m so happy it was with him! A younger Marie would have fainted seeing Sal Vulcano, THE Tanka Jahari, right in front of her eyes. I can’t even lie, I cried because it was like seeing one of my biggest dreams come true,” Vaughns said.

Along-side his stand-up shows, Sal Vulcano also performs around the country with his “Everything’s Fine” 2026 comedy tour, featuring openers including Johnston, Jay Larson and Mike Finoia. Sal also has multiple podcasts called “Hey Babe!” and “Taste Buds,” with special appearances on late-night shows and comedy specials.

Xavier’s Office of Student Involvement plans to host similar events like this for the upcoming Fall 2026 semester.

“What do they want out of different student engagement experiences, what could we do, different what we could, what could we add? What could we stop doing? What could we start doing? And in the last 18 months, we’ve launched over 30 different initiatives just on student life to enhance that experience,” Vice President of Student Affairs and Chief Student Success Officer Dr. Kimberly Moore said in a recent interview with Newswire.
