Sophomore Spring Vocal Recital features Xavier students’ talent

By: Alex Spindler ~Staff Writer~ The Department of Music and Theatre hosted the Sophomore Spring Vocal Recital this weekend at Bellarmine Chapel. Under the tutelage of vocal instructor Harriet Beebe Arrasmith, the voices of sophomores Brandon Langjahr, Elizabeth Rancourt, Mary Bond and Griffith Bludworth pierced the night air with selections ranging from classical to contemporary songs. Each student sang a few songs that best fit his or her vocal range. Rancourt started the evening’s festivities by singing, “If God Be for Us, Who Can Be Against?” by George Frederic Handel. Professionals in the classroom Cincinnati theater directors D. Lynn Meyers and Michael Evan Haney share experience teaching at Xavier University

New to students this spring semester is a theatrical directing class taught by Cincinnati theater professionals Michael Evan Haney and D. Lynn Meyers. Both have worked extensively directing and directing numerous productions in the Cincinnati area and across the county.
